What is the correct way to harvest eggplants?
When we see an eggplant plant bearing fruit, whether in a paddy field or a farm, we sometimes want to pick it. We have embedded a video below to make it easier for you to understand.
There are several methods for picking eggplants; one of which is as follows:
- Use scissors or a sharp cutting tool to cut the eggplant fruit from its stalk.
- Try to clip the tip of the eggplant stalk without touching the branches or shoots.
- This is intended so that the branches or shoots can flower and bear fruit again. If properly maintained, watered, and fertilized, an eggplant plant can last up to 1 year.
- If you snap the stalk or branch that holds the fruit directly, it can cause the plant to die and stop producing fruit, even though it still has the opportunity and time to bear fruit in the future.
