Mention the five pillars of Islam and explain them!
The 5 pillars of Islam are as follows:
- Say two sentences of the Shahada
- Perform the five daily prayers
- Paying zakat
- Fasting during the month of Ramadan
- Go on the pilgrimage to Mecca for those who can afford it
The explanation is as follows
1) 2 sentences of the shahada are a pledge or statement that a person acknowledges that no god must be worshiped other than Allah and acknowledges that the prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah or Rosulullah, the following are the sentences of the shahada in Islam:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَااِلَهَ إِلَّا الله ، وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُوْلُ الله
When someone says the shahada, automatically converts him to Islam. To convert to Islam, you don’t need to carry out excessive rituals. You just say the shahada, then you have officially converted to Islam.
2) Performing the five daily prayers, Muslim is obliged to perform the five daily prayers, namely the Shubuh prayer, Asr prayer, Dhuhur prayer, Maghib prayer, and Isya’prayer, every Muslim who is healthy and has reached puberty is obliged to perform the five daily prayers, but if he is crazy or incapable, he is not required to pray five times a day.
3) Paying zakat, a Muslim who already has income and his income reaches the nisab or the limit of the mandatory zakat provisions, must be obliged to pay zakat, the nisab is 64 grams of gold within 1 year so if your income has exceeded 64 grams of gold within 1 year. you are obliged to pay zakat of 2.5% of your income.
4) Fasting during the month of Ramadan. A Muslim is obliged to fast during the month of Ramadan for one whole month.
5) A Muslim who already has enough income to go on the Hajj to Mecca is obliged to go on the Hajj to Mecca.
