وَتَرَى الشَّمۡسَ اِذَا طَلَعَتۡ تَّزٰوَرُ عَنۡ كَهۡفِهِمۡ ذَاتَ الۡيَمِيۡنِ وَاِذَا غَرَبَتۡ تَّقۡرِضُهُمۡ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ وَهُمۡ فِىۡ فَجۡوَةٍ مِّنۡهُؕ ذٰ لِكَ مِنۡ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِؕ مَنۡ يَّهۡدِ اللّٰهُ فَهُوَ الۡمُهۡتَدِ ۚ وَمَنۡ يُّضۡلِلۡ فَلَنۡ تَجِدَ لَهٗ وَلِيًّا مُّرۡشِدًا (17)
Latin Inscription : wa tarosy syamsya idza thola’at tazawaru ‘an kahfihim dza tal yamini wa idza ghrobab taqridhuhum dzatasysyimali wa hum fi fajwatim minhu dzalika min ayatillaho man yahdillahu fahuwal muhtadi waman yudhlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan mursyidan
Translation from sahih international : And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [laying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of Allah. He whom Allah guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He leaves astray – never will you find for him a protecting guide. (Surah Al Kahf verse 17)
Tafseer Al Qur’an Surah Al Kahf Verse 17 According to the book Tafsir Jalalain
وَتَرَى الشَّمۡسَ اِذَا طَلَعَتۡ تَّزٰوَرُ (And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose) lafadz tazawaruu can be read using tasydid or takhfif, meaning deviated – عَنۡ كَهۡفِهِمۡ ذَاتَ الۡيَمِيۡنِ (inclining away from their cave on the right) towards the right- وَاِذَا غَرَبَتۡ تَّقۡرِ ضُهُمۡ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ(and when it set, passing away from them on the left) i.e. let them go and pass by them, so that the sun’s rays do not reach them at all – وَهُمۡ فِىۡ فَجۡوَةٍ مِّنۡهُ (within an open space thereof) namely a wide , so they always get a fresh and cooling breeze- ذٰ لِكَ (that) is the thing that has been mentioned- مِنۡ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِؕ( was from the signs of Allah) proofs that show His power- مَنۡ يَّهۡدِ اللّٰهُ فَهُوَ الۡمُهۡتَدِ ۚ وَمَنۡ يُّضۡلِلۡ فَلَنۡ تَجِدَ لَهٗ وَلِيًّا مُّرۡشِدًا (He whom Allah guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He leaves astray – never will you find for him a protecting guide.).
