badge-check

The following is the eleventh hadith from the hadith book arba’in nawawi, a hadith that explains the command to leave something doubtful (Syubhat). As told in another arbain nawawi hadith that if a person is accustomed to doubtful matters (Syubhat), then that person will fall into criminal cases (haram), like a sheep that is tended in the land of people who are close to other people’s land, then slowly the sheep will enter someone else’s yard.

The Eleventh Hadith from Arba'in Nawawi: The Command to Leave Something Doubtful (Syubhat)

The following is the eleventh hadith from the arba’in nawawi book of hadith, accompanied by Latin inscriptions, translations, and explanations of the contents. If you have questions or suggestions, please write in the comments column below or via the contact page.

Latin inscription

‘An Abi muhammadil hasan ibni ‘alibni abi tholibin sibthi rosulillahi shollallahu ‘alaihi wa sallama da’ ma yaribuka ila ma la yaribuka (rowahut turmudzi wa qo la: hadtis hasan shohih)

It means :

From Abu Muhammad Al Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Talib, the grandson of the Prophet sallallaahu`alaihi wa sallam and his favorite radhiallahuanhuma, he said: I memorized from the Prophet sallallaahu`alaihi wa sallam (his words): Leave what doubts you to what does not doubt you. (Narrated Hadith by Turmudzi and said: hadith hasan sahih).

Quoting the writings of dr. Muhammad Mu’dunillah, Here are six contents or contents of the eleventh hadith from the book of hadith arba’in nawawi:

  1. The order to leave doubtful cases (syubhat) and take lawful matters will give rise to the best attitude.
  2. Getting out of the clerical ikhtilaf is more critical because it is more protected from questionable actions, significantly if nothing can be strengthened among their opinions.
  3. If there is doubt contrary to the belief, then the assumption is taken.
  4. A matter must be straightforward and based on confidence and calm. There is no price for doubt and indecision.
  5. Be careful of disdain towards religious matters and issues of bid’ah.
  6. Whoever habituates doubtful matters will dare to commit unlawful acts.
